Void In Darkness

I peered through the window just to see a little bit of light,

Alas! all i saw was darkness

But then,I looked again carefully,

Then,i saw a star twinkling,

I remembered the woes of my country,Nigeria,

Nigeria,where people are void in darkness,

With corruption and cowards we call leaders ,

Leaders or what did i hear you say?

They are not leaders,

Leaders are meant to be great people,

Great people with great courage,

Great courage that says "i will go on no matter what happens",

But once the so-called Nigerian leaders fail,

They would never try again,

Just as i saw the star twinkling,

I discovered that there can be a beam of light after darkness for Nigeria,

I realised that there is hope,

And we have a bright future ahead of us,

We will achieve great things if we serve dilligently,

If we serve dilligently,

We would see a beam of light after darkness.

God help Nigeria.
